hi! i am sydney!
California-born | East Coast transplant
Lover of all things mustard yellow, running, gardening, and anything puppy-related.
On a normal day, you'll find me chasing my dog, Alice, around the yard, frequenting my favorite coffee shop, discussing the enneagram test, talking to my indoor plants (sorry?), battling for space with my husband in our tiny kitchen, and indulging in an always-favorite Criminal Minds TV marathon.
Looking forward to chatting with you about your creative needs! Or just talking about plants, missing California, or the enneagram - all are welcome!
about sage & oak creative
In 2019, Sage & Oak Creative was born out of a need for free coffee.
Yes - you read that right: free coffee.
Sydney, working remotely, was looking for a place to work during the day
and not break the bank. She made a proposition to a local coffee shop:
free coffee and a place to work -in exchange for- free signage.
A beautiful partnership formed, which kicked Sydney off in the direction of chalk signage and handlettering. From there, word spread throughout Main Street and around the city, and soon Sydney was working on menus at breweries, balloon garlands, custom prints, and anything needing a personal touch!
Where did the name "Sage & Oak Creative" come from?
Sydney has always loved & business names:
Fork & Wrench (Baltimore), Politics & Prose, Busboys & Poets (DC)
When starting this new venture, she knew she wanted her business to be
in same format with flora words - uniting her love of nature and
gardening. After bringing lists of possibilities to friends and family,
one name continued to stand out: Sage & Oak Creative.
