I had the honor and privilege of spending 24 hours with my best friend seeing @jarcuri (& @thekatiethurston) in Boston, stay in a hotel away from our kids, have a fancy dinner and drink lots of wine, and gush over our love for each other (then treat ourselves to @avigail.adam hair pieces).

We spent a week in CA, & I woke up and forgot it was Oct. 6th.

I got a text from my mom from the east coast saying “good morning happy anniversary you two I love you!”

And I forgot it was our wedding anniversary. Just for a few minutes.

We were juggling cross country travel with two little ones, time change, a 4 day work conference, solo parenting (in beautiful weather!), and 2 days at Disneyland.

All while actually having fun, remaining consistent parents, and remembering to drink water.

But we did it with minimal arguing, especially 2 days surrounded by thousands of people also there to see princesses.

So here is my little post to say I love this guy and we have been married 7 years and it’s insane and 98% of the time I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else. And I’m grateful he plays along in the shirts too :)

(And yes we did take the girls to Disney and it was an experience but this is a photo I got of just us since I don’t post my cute cute kids.)

This ride of motherhood is a wild, challenging, most beautiful thing and I’m usually crying and laughing and also overstimulated all at the exact same time.

This Maeve of mine turns 4 today and she is brave as brave can be. And she’s made me braver too.

Here’s to the caregivers and their support, for bringing up strong independent girls who say “No.” as a full sentence. Even when it’s to us.
